IN HIS PRESENCE, THE LION WOULD NOT TOUCH ITS PREY

Jeroboam won the hearts of the ten tribes of Israel. He ruled happily and with time he realised that as long as people went up to worship God at Jerusalem he would soon loose their loyalty to Reboam the son of Solomon who was from the family of King David. To discourage people from going to Jerusalem, he made two golden images and built shines for worship, throughout Israel. He told the people that he realised how tiring was to climb up to Jerusalem to worship in the temple. He gave them two golden calves and told them it was their gods who led them out of Egypt This displeased God, who send a prophet to come down from Judah. 

When the prophets spoke against the gods and reported that altars would be brought down, King Jeroboam was furious and he orders for the man to be arrested, but the Kings hand became parallelised. The prophet prayed for the King's hand to heal and God answered.God had commanded the prophet not to eat or drink anything in that country and to go through a different route. The prophet was approached by the King who invited him to his house to dine with him. The prophet turn down the request affirming that he would not take even half of the his house. The prophet went his way, but he was met on the way by an old projected who pleaded with him to go to his house and have some bread and drinks. 

The old prophet lied to him that, he had been sent by the spirit of God. He obliged and later faced the wrath of God. After taking meals in the old prophets house, he left, and was mauled on the way by a Lion. The Lion and the Donkey stood side by side, did not attack the donkey, or eat the body. (I KINGS 12:24-33, 13:1-34) God wants his children to remain faithful to him and he would bless them. Accept Jesus today as your personal saviour and things will never be the same again.
