Beena Valembia, a popular U.K. Musician visited Kenya; and met Apostle William K Korir in his office. The two held fruitful discussion and Valembia pledged to Support - The Hope Ministries World - Projects / Programmes - in future.
While many of artists just perform the same songs from the film industry: Valembia prefers to tell jokes and perform her own parodies'
She is a Tanzanian born, though she has been living in U.K. for last 21 years now. her grandparents came from India. she started learning to sing at her religious class as a 10 year old in Africa. She got a lot of support from her mother who accompanied her and taught her how to play the harmonium. Her Mother is 75 years old and still accompanies her. Beena loves her mum!
She started performing at the age of 29. A good friend of hers from Kenya suggested she does it because she cracked him up. The first performance was at an Indian club in front of about 150 people and they really liked her! Normally she performed in halls or in houses for birthdays, wedding parties, anniversaries or in restaurants. She doesn't play in the clubs. She like good listeners, and if people are drinking she doesn't enjoy performing for them because they're not listening to her! Her audiences are from Africa and Asia - mostly Africa. They understand the day to day themes of her songs and the double-meanings. At certain times of the year she organises Swahili nights, and at other times She'll be performing for a mainly Asian audience - so she cater for both. "There's always an exchange of jokes between me and the audience" Says, Beena. She prefers to tell jokes and perform her own parodies'. 
Beena Valembia was pleased to be back in Kenya and though she was to leave the Country the following day, she promised to be back, to support projects being carried out by Hope Ministries World.
