II Kings 4:1 "Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha saying Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen."
Elisha the Prophet
The widow whose husband had passed on,came to Elisha in tears and pleaded with him to save her two sons from being taken away as slaves by Someone who was indebted by her late husband. The man had approached her on several occassions and had demanded to be paid what was due to him. In his last visit he had threatened to take her sons as slaves in lieu of payment for the overdue debtdue.
The lady had nothing to pay the outstanding amount left behind by her late husband and so she had to go to the man of God - Elisha and cried for his help to save her only sons. Elisha inquired from her what she had in the house, but the lady said she had nothing other than oil in a little bottle. Elisha sent her to go back home and borrow as many vessels as she could from her neighbours and thereafter lock herself in her house with her two sons and poor the little oil into the borrowed vessels. She did as the man of God had told her and borrowed as many vessels as she could until there was none in the neighbourhood and locked herself in the house with her sons.
Pray and receive
She poored the little oil in the bottle to each vessel until she had filled all the vessels,then the oil in the bottle got finished and stopped pouring. She went back to Prophet Elisha to inquire on the next course of action and the he told her to sell the oil and clear the debt and the balance to sell for her upkeep.
This is a powerful miracle which confirms that God's store house is sufficient to provide all our needs. There is power in the word of God and we only need to belief and receive enourmous blessings.
If you are faithful enough, you shall ask for whatever you need and it shall be given to you. Live a righteous virtuous life pleasing both humans and God and you will never lack what is good in your life no matter your status in life. God will provide all your needs as long as you remain righteous and submissive to Him.
The widow had a genuine case and she was sincere and God blessed her. God always do bless His Children out of love. God can also uplift you from your current sufferings. He will open heavenly gates to pour His blessings and your store house will not be enough to hold His blessings.
May God bless you as you continue to search for His will and to submit to Him allowing His gracious hand to lead you to higher level.
