THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN BELIEVER'S LIVES

By Apostle William Korir

The Bible declares; For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one (I John 3:7 - NKJV). The "Word" is defined as a living being in John 1;1-4; 14. Joh In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ( And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 NKJV ).

According o the scripture, there are three distinct personalities;
1. THE FATHER
2. THE SON (WORD) and,
3.THE HOLY SPIRIT.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. the three are Co-Eternal and Co-Equal.

We see the Godhead working in unity, an example is when Jesus went to be baptised at Jordan River.  A voice was heard heard in heaven saying, that's my Son in whom I am well pleased, then a dove descended from heaven and rested on Jesus and Jesus was there standing on Jordan waters.

Jesus promised the good works of the Holy Spirit the promise of God the father. Here are a few verses talking the roles of the Holy Spirit impacting believers' lives. read on....

  • And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.(Mathew 10:1 NKJV)
  • Lu 24:49 "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."(NKJV)
  • 2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
  •  Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,
  •  who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,(NKJV)
  • Lu 4:14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.(NKJV)
  • Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.(NKJV)
  • Eph 4:30 -31And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.(NKJV)
  • Ro 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, (NKJV)
  • Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
  •  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,(NKJV)\
  • Ac 9:31 Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied. (NKJV)
The Holy Spirit gives to believers;
Power
Life
Comfort
Encouragement
Sealing as Sons and daughters of God.

There are two universal covenants spanning across the generations till now. God called Abraham out of Ur to the promised land. While in Canaan God gave Abraham the following two promises:
1) That Abraham and his descendants will inherit the land of Canaan.
2) That Abraham and his SEED (Jesus Christ - Galatians 3:16-17)  will be the Father of all nations by faith. These two promises matured at Sinai after Israel had dwelt in Sinai for 430 years and at the cross when Jesus was crucified.

THE FIRST (OLD) COVENANT

This first covenant is also known as Sinai/Mosaic Covenant. After exactly 430 years Israel was carried by the hand of God from Egypt to Mount Sinai. God issued his covenant commandments i,e a) the Ten Commandments inscribed on two tablet of stones b) God dictated to Moses who wrote 603 commands of God on scroll and with ink. the two sets of laws both formed the covenant (agreement) issued by God to Israel (Exodus Chap.19 to Chap.24).
Moses says in Deuteronomy Chap. 5 that the Mt. Sinai Covenant was   specific to the Children of Israel  Israel was still one nation it had not split to two nations that of Israel and Judah. Moses says the Sinai Covenant did not apply to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the people of Israel in Egypt who perished  before reaching Mt. Sinai where the covenant was issued. Its needless to say that if it did not apply to Israel, it did not apply at all to the Gentiles or all the people of other nations of the world.
After Moses read to the people gathered all the 613 laws (both the Ten Commandments & 603 hand writings of Moses written on scroll), the people covenanted that they shall keep every word of the covenant as read by Moses. Moses then sealed the covenant with the blood of animals. Moses warned them that if they broke God's covenant, the Wrath of God will be on their heads.

Prophet Jeremiah announced  that in the coming days, God shall bring to an end to the Sinai Covenant because Israel had broken it and to be replace by a New and different Covenant not same as the one issued in Sinai. (Jeremiah 31:31-34) Zechariah gave an hint to the timelines of ending the Sinai Covenant (Zechariah 31:31-34). The cross reference leads us to Mathew 26:15, 27:1.... The scripture points to the cross as an End to the Old Covenant. John 1:17, states that the Commandments came through Moses and that Grace and Truth (Gospel of Jesus -John 17:17), came through Jesus. Judas threw the 30 silvers into the Temple and was used to buy a piece of plot to bury him. Thus Sinai Covenant ended at the cross.

THE SECOND (NEW) COVENANT

Prophet Jeremiah in Chap, 31:31-34, foretold the Issuance by God of a New Covenant which was going to be different from the one issued at Mount Sinai which the Israel broke. The new one would be written in tablets of stones but shall be written in the hearts of believers. The book of Luke Chap. 22 verse 20 paints a picture of Jesus launching the start of the New Covenant ( Jesus took the cup of wine and said, this cup is my blood in the New Covenant).

Hebrews 8:6-13, replays Jeremiahs prophecy stating that if the first Covenant issued at Sinai had no flaws then there would have been no need to issue another. It states that the New Covenant was excellent and Jesus the Son mediated over it while Moses as a Servant mediated over the Sinai Covenant.

Apostle Paul stated that he was a servant under the New Covenant and not the old covenant (2 Corinthians Chapter 3.) The Old Covenant with the 613 Commandments is now obsolete (Hebrews 8:13). As Israel crosses over from the Commandments to the New Covenant, Gentiles are brought near through the shed blood in the cross.

Both believing Israel and believing Gentiles are brought near by the blood of Jesus. (Ephesians 2:12, Galatians Chapter 3).

The New Covenant is glorious and Jesus is the mediator as the Son.

The Power of Healing.

Lots of Televangelist carry out miracle healing. This attracts huge crowds of people who come to view live, the miracles. unfortunately most of these miracle performers are not serving God. Their Master and god is Satan the enemy of God. Their source of powers originates from the Devil and demons. The people takes large sums of money to the false teachers who share out the generated money with the agents of the devil or collected from their pulpits by the demons. When you witness large sums of money being placed at the altar, that money are shared out between the miracle performer with Satan.

There are many former televangelist who previously served under the power of Satan who genuinely repented and turned away from serving Satan and returned to the body of believers to give a warning and testimonies to the church to be alert and stay away from those houses of Babel.

Read the Bible everyday to grow in grace and ask God to help you and for the Holy Spirit to help you understand in depth understanding. God bless you and give you discernment and you seek for the truth.

Jesus is Coming Back!

As we approach 2000 years since Jesus ascended to heaven, it is apparent that we are in the last days which Jesus told his disciples would come before the end of His Come. Jesus had said Earth quakes, floods, wars, rumours of wars, Nations attacking other nations, starvation, flood of false prophets, advancement of knowledge, diminished love among relatives and even in Churches, etc. Jesus further told his disciples that even with these occurrences, the end would still not come. THE END OF THE WORLD WOULD BE WITNESSED when the gospel will have been preached and every ear will have heard.
MATHEW CHAPTER 24.

Help this goal to be achieved by receiving Jesus now, if you haven't as yet. If the 8 billion or so people said Yes to Jesus, Jesus will appear in the sky to take us home! Share this message to your friends and relatives and lets speed up the coming of our Lord and Saviour.

AT THE SHORES OF CAPERNAUM

Matthew 4:1-25

Prophet Isaiah in Chapter 9:1,2 had prophesied that Jesus would come and preach to the Gentiles beyond River Jordan at the Sea shores of Capernaum in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali the sons of Jacob. Jesus started his Ministry work after being tempted by the devil. He preached, healed and did miracles in the region. And his good works spread like a wild fire among the nations and people of Israel.

1. Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.
Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' "
Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.' "
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."
10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee.
13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
15 "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned."
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,
22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.
25 Great multitudes followed Him--from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

TWO ROADS

God has given mankind two ways. One way leads those who follow to eternity and the other leads people to hell. The thin road has few people and the wide road has millions of people. The wide road has man Pastors who were never serving God....People who were in churches holding high positions but serving demons. Most miracles witnessed in churches are not from God, they are from the Devil.

Seek the Lord therefore and receive eternal life. Romans 10:9-13, 2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:16.

MISSING IN THE GARDEN OF THE LORD!

God visited Adam in the Garden of Eden as He usually did, but Adam and Eve were no where to be seen.  God called out to him saying, - Adam, Adam where are you?   Adam responded with a shaken voice saying, "I heard your voice and I was afraid; because I was naked " God asked him, " who told you you were naked?" Have you eaten fruits of the tree I had commanded you not to eat?" Adam responded saying,"The woman whom you gave to be with me, gave me the fruits and I ate."
God said to Adam, because you have disobeyed what I commanded you to do, "cursed is the ground. In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. (Genesis 3:9-12,17)

The curse of disobedience to God is very severe. Adam and his family slided into spiritual oblivion. everything went wrong in the beautiful holy Garden of Eden. God no longer came to be with them in the evenings. Adam and his wife were send away from their home to live in the forest and to live on wild fruits.

Thorns and thistles sprouted. An innocent lamb shed blood for Adam and family temporal forgiveness of sins. The skin/hide of the lamb was used to make a covering for the fallen family. The covering in them would register in their mind the fact that sin kills. Shortly after, the eldest son killed his sibling Abel. Death posed a serious land mark on earth till the coming of Jesus where Jesus reversed the trend.

Believers have the slain Jesus clothing of righteousness replacing the Adam's skin of the slain lamb. So now believers are righteous in Jesus and have access to the throne of grace. Today if you read this wonderful message make a bold step and stand out as you seek to unite bodily with Jesus our Lord and Saviour of the World. God bless you.

The Gospel must be preached!

Apostle William Korir prays for healing and deliverance at Nassuit

The gospel of Jesus has endured the sharp opposition by the enemy the devil. Many believers have shed blood in Satan's attempt to discourage those taking the end time message to all peoples of the world. But Christians' blood will never perish. When the blood touches the ground it sprout and blossom.  Trust in the Lord for he will help you.

Jesus commanded believers all over the World to take the everlasting message to all people of the World

MESSAGE TO ALL CORNERS OF THE WORLD

Jesus commanded believers all over the World to take the everlasting message to all people of the World.

Mt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
 (NKJV)

Every believer has a duty to share the message of Jesus to all persons they come in contact with. Sound the Trumpets!  Jesus is about to come to take the Church. No one should be left behind. all must shout in the streets, on the roadside, on the roofs, in the valleys. Everywhere Jesus must be proclaimed.

Count Your Blesseings

It is usually common and human to always look at the flip side of our life and murmur, complain, Be bitter etc. We hardly remember when our life is at its best. When we are in good health, in happiness, We hardly remember our live is in good stature. We hardly remember when out stomachs are always full because of plenty of supplies around us. We hardly remember any of it. When problems sets in and give us challenges - We cry the louddest as through we have been suffering all the years. it so sad. Let's look up and remember the cross when God gave us all. God gave us Jesus. He gave us the Holy Spirit and He gave us Himself the father. We need to thank God for all that we go through - for it is well...it is well saints all the time, anytime.

Righteousness brings God's blessings

2Ch 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
15 "Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.
 (NKJV)

God's promises are sure and being a faithful God he keeps his promises. Mankind are to blame for their woes. God has made a sweeping statement confirming his honesty . Lets look critically at the salient points listed in the scripture.

God uses a strong word "IF", Here attributes our frequent woes to our own failure to obey Him. Then He lists causes/pointers  for our failures.

1..."CALLED BY MY NAME - Christians
2. ...."HUMBLE THEMSELVES"...... A call for humility ...to be humble people
3.....SEEK SEEK GOD'S FACE" ...........
4...TURN AWAY FROM THEIR SINS" ........
5....SEEK GOD'S FACE
6....PRAY ......."

God's Instant respond;

1. GOD IN HEAVEN HEARS PRAYERS FROM EARTH
2. FORGIVES THE SINNER
3. BLESSES THE SINNER.

Once we have known what blocks our prayer and how to seek the Lord in all our heart,
We then in haste repent and seek forgives and believe we have been forgiven and then walk with God all our days and under all circumstances.

God bless you reader in abundance, in Jesus Name.

THE INNER MAN

On the sixth day of creation week God made Man on his own image according to his likeness. God took soil and formed man, but he was lifeless. Then God breathed a life giving spirit and the Man became conscious. The life giving spirit is a living being and he is the inner Man. The outer Man is the physical body that aid the inner Man communicate with the outer world.

Man disobeyed God and fell and were cast out of the Garden of Eden and a Cherub placed in the Garden to protect the tree of life so that he would not approach the tree and it of its fruits and live for ever in sinful life.

God made a promise of salvation for mankind when he proclaimed that the Seed of the Woman and the seed of the serpent would bruise each other. We know for sure that women has no Seed in them but men. So what did God refer to when he said the SEED OF EVE would bruise the seed of the serpent? Virgin Mary engaged to Joseph were to conceive miraculous and have child and would name him Jesus because he will save the world. These were the angels words.

When Adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit they committed serious sin and were separated from God. They were no longer meeting with God on daily basis in the evening hours. They were send away to till land outside Eden. Their inner man no longer please God as it was sinful. it was no longer holy and was bound to die. A saviour was to come and die for them (John 3:16) for the saving of mankind.

At the cross Jesus died and all human beings were inside him and died with Jesus and resurrected with him therefore reversing the works and intentions of Satan, Any person accepting Jesus is made a child of God. The inner man received from Adam is removed and a new spirit man is given to the convert and instantly becomes a new person. The new man (inner spirit) from the second Adam (Jesus) never dies and never commit sin (I John 3:9).

The inner man in believers are in fact hidden in God together with Jesus (Colossians 3:1-3).
This inner man is in believers those righteous Children of God.

RESTORED GLORY

At creation God made a wonderful world with perfect and functional creation. God himself saw what he had created as good. However, in his creation, God wanted human beings to love him willingly and by choice. He had made other objects which did not have to think or choose how to relate with God. Things like sun, moon, starts etc. they were robots who went in circles keeping their lanes in the sky as they orbited day in day out. They followed their natural route without deviation since they were created.

Mankind was created differently. They were given a superior brain able to make judgement and to freely choose their hearts desire. As a test of their loyalty and obedience, God had set aside one tree in the middle of the garden- which they were required not to touch or eat. the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

This they did not obey God but the ate the forbidden fruits of this tree and therefore received thefull force of the wrath of God. As a result all the creatures suffered terrible loss. They lost their original glory from God. They planet earth wasted away, the entire creation lost direction. Animals intended to eat grass prayed on each other. They ground stopped producing enough and Satan took charge of the fallen planet turning people further away from God. Cain killed his brother Abel and sin multiplied on earth. God walked with Enoch on earth for 300 years and one day he decided to take him to heaven so he could live in perfect holiness with him. God saw the world sliding deep into darkness of sin, he saw Noah a righteous man. He called out to Noah to build an Ark and invite willing human beings to enter the Ark and safe their lives from massive floods overtaking the earth. Enoch preached tirelessly for 120 years but no one accepted his end time message. He saved only his family, His wife, three Sons and their wives.

God brought calamity to the entire earth and all human beings perished in the flood for rejecting God's message of redemption through his servant.

In our Time we are calling people to repentance and holiness but people are preoccupied with pleasure. Gold and money is the new god. People can do anything to amass wealth. Even the few who struggle to go to churches do so to be blessed with riches - prosperity. People commit sins willingly and with passion. Our time is  no different from the time of Sodom and Gomorrah when the two holy angels rained Fires of sulphur on the evil city.

Which side are you? Seek the Lord today and live. (Romans 10:5-13).

HOPE MINISTRIES WORLD IS TODAY'S VOICE OF HOPE TO THE WORLD. JESUS INVITES YOU NOW TO REPENT FROM ALL YOUR SINS AND TURN AWAY FROM COMMITTING SINS AND RENEW YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD! IT IS TIME EVERYONE IN THE WORLD TURN AWAY FROM LIVING IN SINFUL WAYS AND WORSHIP GOD THE CREATOR OF HEAVENS, EARTH, THE SEA AND ALL THE CREATURES. TURN TO GOD AND LIVE!

GRANDMA WITH BRAIN TUMOUR HEALED

By Apostle William Korir

IT was year 2009, when I visited KASS T.V. Nairobi a local vernacular station where I recorded sermons to be aired on Sundays. At the end of the sermon I gave my phone numbers. The same week I was flooded with phone calls requesting for prayers.

There was however one unusual phone call made by a woman in her 40s who informed me that she was in Moi Referral Hospital situated some 350 from my home. The lady informed me that her aged mother was due for operation that following day to remove a growth in her brain. She requested me to pray for her mother on phone at 8.00p.m for a successful operation. I did;

The following morning she took her mother to the theatre where Doctors carried out scanning prior to operation. The result indicated there was no tumour and the Doctors thought the scanning machine was faulty. They repeated the scan but received nil results.  The lady confirmed to the Doctors that she had no headache as she had before prayers.

The good Lord fully healed the old Lady and her health was full restored. An Assistant Chief in the locality kept briefing me that the Lady was well in the Lord. Five years later in 2014, the old Lady was fine. In Acts 1:8, the scripture states that - when the Holy Spirit descends, we shall receive power to do miracles in Jesus name.

By faith God works miracles through His servants. Lets all hold faith and witness God at work through us.

The Father is not from the Son, but the Son is from the Father, as to authority. The Holy Spirit is from the Father and the Son proceeding, as to nature, relationship, cooperation and authority. The Title, Lord Jesus Christ The appellation, "Lord Jesus Christ," is a proper name. It is never applied in the New Testament, either to the Father or to the Holy Spirit. It therefore belongs exclusively to the Son of God. · Romans 1:1-3 [KJV/NIV] · 2 John 1:3 [KJV/NIV f. The Lord Jesus Christ, God with Us The Lord Jesus Christ, as to His divine and eternal nature, is the proper and only Begotten of the Father, but as to His human nature, He is the proper Son of Man. He is therefore, acknowledged to be both God and man; who because He is God and man is "Immanuel," God with us. o Matthew 1:23 [KJV/NIV] o 1 John 4:2 [KJV/NIV] o 1 John 4:10 [KJV/NIV] o 1 John 4:14 [KJV/NIV] o Revelation 1:13 [KJV/NIV] o Revelation 1:17 [KJV/NIV] g. The Title, Son of God Since the name "Immanuel" embraces both God and man in the one Person, our Lord Jesus Christ, it follows that the title, Son of God, describes His proper deity, and the title, Son of Man, His proper humanity. Therefore, the title Son of God, belongs to the order of eternity, and the title, Son of Man, to the order of time. o Matthew 1:21-23 [KJV/NIV] o 2 John 1:3 [KJV/NIV] o 1 John 3:8 [KJV/NIV] o Hebrews 7:3 [KJV/NIV] o Hebrews 1:1-13 [KJV/NIV] h. Transgression of the Doctrine of Christ Wherefore, it is a transgression of the Doctrine of Christ to say that Jesus Christ derived the title, Son of God, solely from the fact of the incarnation, or because of His relation to the economy of redemption. Therefore, to deny that the Father is a real and eternal Father, and that the Son is a real and eternal Son, is a denial of the distinction and relationship in the Being of God; a denial of the Father, and the Son; and a displacement of the truth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. o 2 John 1:9 [KJV/NIV] o John 1:1 [KJV/NIV] o John 1:2 [KJV/NIV] o John 1:14 [KJV/NIV] o John 1:18 [KJV/NIV] o John 1:29 [KJV/NIV] o John 1:49 [KJV/NIV] o 1 John 2:22,23 [KJV/NIV] o 1 John 4:1-5 [KJV/NIV] o Hebrews 12:2 [KJV/NIV] i. Exaltation of Jesus Christ as Lord The Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, having by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; angels and principalities and powers having been made subject unto Him. And having been made both Lord and Christ, He sent the Holy Spirit that we, in the name of Jesus, might bow our knees and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father until the end, when the Son shall become subject to the Father that God may be all in all. o Hebrews 1:3 [KJV/NIV] o 1 Peter 3:22 [KJV/NIV] o Acts 2:32-36 [KJV/NIV] o Romans 14:11 [KJV/NIV] o 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 [KJV/NIV] j. Equal Honor to the Father and to the Son Wherefore, since the Father has delivered all judgment unto the Son, it is not only the express duty of all in heaven and on earth to bow the knee, but it is an unspeakable joy in the Holy Spirit to ascribe unto the Son all the attributes of Deity, and to give Him all honor and the glory contained in all the names and titles of the Godhead except those which express relationship (see Distinction and Relationship in the Godhead, Unity of the One Being of Father, Son and Holy Spirit , and Identity and Cooperation in the Godhead) and thus honor the Son even as we honor the Father. o John 5:22,23 [KJV/NIV] o 1 Peter 1:8 [KJV/NIV] o Revelation 5:6-14 [KJV/NIV] o Philippians 2:8,9 [KJV/NIV] o Revelation 7:9-10 [KJV/NIV] o Revelation 4:8-11 [KJV/NIV] 3. The Fall of Man Man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness." However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. · Genesis 1:26,27 [KJV/NIV] · Genesis 2:17 [KJV/NIV] · Genesis 3:6 [KJV/NIV] · Romans 5:12-19 [KJV/NIV] 5. The Salvation of Man Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Conditions to Salvation Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life. · Luke 24:47 [KJV/NIV] · John 3:3 [KJV/NIV] · Romans 10:13-15 [KJV/NIV] · Ephesians 2:8 [KJV/NIV] · Titus 2:11 [KJV/NIV] · Titus 3:5-7 [KJV/NIV] The Evidence of Salvation The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. · Romans 8:16 [KJV/NIV] The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. · Ephesians 4:24 [KJV/NIV] · Titus 2:12 [KJV/NIV] 6. The Ordinances of the Church Baptism in Water The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. · Matthew 28:19 [KJV/NIV] · Mark 16:16 [KJV/NIV] · Acts 10:47,48 [KJV/NIV] · Romans 6:4 [KJV/NIV] Holy Communion The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements --bread and the fruit of the vine-- is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4 [KJV/NIV]), a memorial of his suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26 [KJV/NIV]), and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26 [KJV/NIV]), and is enjoined on all believers "till He come!" 7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. · Luke 24:49 [KJV/NIV] · Acts 1:4 [KJV/NIV] · Acts 1:8 [KJV/NIV] · 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 [KJV/NIV] This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. · Acts 8:12-17 [KJV/NIV] · Acts 10:44-46 [KJV/NIV] · Acts 11:14-16 [KJV/NIV] · Acts 15:7-9 [KJV/NIV] With the baptism in the Holy Spirit come such experiences as: · an overflowing fullness of the Spirit, John 7:37-39 [KJV/NIV], Acts 4:8 [KJV/NIV] · a deepened reverence for God, Acts 2:43 [KJV/NIV], Hebrews 12:28 [KJV/NIV] · an intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work, Acts 2:42 [KJV/NIV] · and a more active love for Christ, for His Word and for the lost, Mark 16:20 [KJV/NIV] 8. The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance. · Acts 2:4 [KJV/NIV] The speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, but is different in purpose and use. · 1 Corinthians 12:4-10 [KJV/NIV] · 1 Corinthians 12:28 [KJV/NIV] 9. Sanctification Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. · Romans 12:1,2 [KJV/NIV] · 1 Thessalonians 5:23 [KJV/NIV] · Hebrews 13:12 [KJV/NIV] The Scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord." · Hebrews 12:14 [KJV/NIV] By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command: "Be ye holy, for I am holy." · 1 Peter 1:15,16 [KJV/NIV] Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by the faith reckoning daily upon the fact of that union, and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit. · Romans 6:1-11 [KJV/NIV] · Romans 6:13 [KJV/NIV] · Romans 8:1,2 [KJV/NIV] · Romans 8:13 [KJV/NIV] · Galatians 2:20 [KJV/NIV] · Philippians 2:12,13 [KJV/NIV] · 1 Peter 1:5 [KJV/NIV] 10. The Church and its Mission The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfilment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, which are written in heaven. · Ephesians 1:22,23 [KJV/NIV] · Ephesians 2:22 [KJV/NIV] · Hebrews 12:23 [KJV/NIV] Since God's purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost, to be worshipped by man, and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, the priority reason for being of the Assemblies of God as part of the Church is: 1. To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world. Acts 1:8 [KJV/NIV] Matthew 28:19,20 [KJV/NIV] Mark 16:15,16 [KJV/NIV] 2. To be a corporate body in which man may worship God. 1 Corinthians 12:13 [KJV/NIV] 3. To be a channel of God's purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son. Ephesians 4:11-16 [KJV/NIV] 1 Corinthians 12:28 [KJV/NIV] 1 Corinthians 14:12 [KJV/NIV] The Hope Ministries World (HMW) exists expressly to give continuing emphasis to this reason for being in the New Testament apostolic pattern by teaching and encouraging believers to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. This experience: 1. Enables them to evangelise in the power of the Spirit with accompanying supernatural signs. Mark 16:15-20 [KJV/NIV] Acts 4:29-31 [KJV/NIV] Hebrews 2:3,4 [KJV/NIV] 2. Adds a necessary dimension to worshipful relationship with God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 [KJV/NIV] 1 Corinthians 12 [KJV/NIV] 1 Corinthians 13 [KJV/NIV] 1 Corinthians 14 [KJV/NIV] 3. Enables them to respond to the full working of the Holy Spirit in expression of fruit and gifts and ministries as in New Testament times for the edifying of the body of Christ.
